I am going to be in the Destin Nation this weekend and I already prepared myself for the economic impact of missing Decadence. But I wake up this morning and see something that is going to be much harder to miss…
Following Antoinette’s heart attack death on Mardi Gras morning, her daughter Betty Fox moved into the apartment and took over the bar. On Saturday, Sept. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Fox is hosting a garage sale at the Lounge. … She plans to part with most of Antoinette and Ernie’s clothes — suits, gowns, coats, shoes, hats — as well as household items and such souvenirs as “K-Doe for Mayor” T-shirts. She is keeping the couple’s more elaborate, decorated outfits for use on the K-Doe mannequin and a proposed Antoinette mannequin.
Ernie K-Doe Mother-in-Law Lounge to host garage sale
Perhaps it is good that I am going to miss this because with cooler temperatures right around the corner, the opportunity to don some of the Emperor’s coats and jacket’s may drain my bank account. But, damn. I mean damn. This would be like all the Thrift City third Thursday of the month half-off sales in one fabulous Saturday. Damn you Fortuna!
If anyone goes to this, please get me a K-Doe for Mayor shirt. At any cost. You can even add a service charge. Please.
