I overheard something yesterday that made me go hmmmmmmm.
Superintendent Warren Riley continually cites the lesser number of police on the streets as contributing to the rise in crime in New Orleans. He states the number of cops before the flood as being around 1600 and the number of cops now on the street being around 1200. But with a population of 450,000 before the flood and a population of at most 250,000 now, wouldn’t that make it so there are more police per person in New Orleans than before the flood?
I think our levees might be actually better than our leaders. That’s fucked up no?
