I was hesitant to post this here because I wanted this blog to be less about me and more about my experience in the city but I thought about it and I’m now sure it applies.
My fiance and I will be on HGTV’s show “House Hunters” on New Years Day. We filmed part of the show before the flood and the other part after. See if you can tell which is which. The show chronicles us through our existence in Mid City (filming was one day interrupted by, “I got ORANGES and BANANAS!”) and on to the place we later bought in Algiers Point.
Our performances are going to be very stilted and I’ll probably embarrass myself but, what the hell, we could all use a laugh right?.
Tune in Monday. Below is a link to the show preview where we are referred to as an “eclectic twosome.”
Henceforth, you are the eclectic one.
I’ll be watching! Yay,Algiers!
Well aren’t you two just the cutest couple and you picked the Mermaid approved house too!
So is the funk goin’ on at The Dry Dock yet? Lemme know!
Feh…I was 20 minutes late…are they gonnn re-air it anytime soon???
There were some inaccuracies in the show. She was actually talking with the owner of The Old Point and they showed a clip of the Dry Dock. She’s sat in with some bands up there but never had her own gig. The band with the “friend down the street” didn’t work out and my guitar playing only goes as far as what you saw. Basically A, Am, D, C, E, Em and G.
She has her own Web site: http://www.romykaye.com and there are some MP3s on there. Oh and a MySpace page.
As for when it is airing again, I am trying to find that out. They are supposed to be sending us a dvd and if they do, I’ll try and get it ripped and put in a secret place for friends and family to view on the Web.
Thanks for watching. The dead-giveaway for which scenes were before the storm and which were after was the prescense of the “Katrina 10.”
There I am, trying to have a peaceful evening and I happen to catch the very end of a show called “House Hunters.†There was this great looking girl with some some guy who looked like he had latched on to her and she was being nice by letting him hang around. I wish I could have seen more. I hope all is well. When you a get a chance, shoot me an email and let me know how you are doing. Tell Romy, Adrienne and I say hello. Take Care, AJ (La Jolla Light- AJ)
Make sure you put up a fresh post when/if you know the rerun schedule!
