If any one is dreading having to watch any of the “three-headed monster” of 24-hour news channels, there is hope!
WYES is covering it!
So less BS hopefully.
I love this channel. Y’all ever catch “Stepping Out“? It’s awesome.

I’ve missed very few eps of Steppin’ Out since I moved here in ’78. And I’m always amazed when I mention the show and nobody knows about it. Duh!

I like the guy who gives ratings by clapping 1 – 5 times. Kind of like “two-snaps up” on Living Color back in the day.

WYES is really a something special. I frequently find myself drawn into “Starlight Theater”. Not always to my taste, but whoever picks the movies, knows his stuff.
I really don’t think we realize how good it is. Everyone likes to harp on the TP as well, but spend some time in some other comparable cities and see what amateurish crap they have.

YES was showing “Some Like It Hot” in moderate rotation a while back and it gave an opportunity to see the flick multiple times and notice all the little things that make it a classic.
The coverage last night was good in that it was basic. Though, Jim Lehrer seemed to be in as good a shape as Ted Kennedy.

Classic Arts Showcase is my fave. I could watch that shit for days on end.
And I agree with Swampwoman, watching the convention on CSPAN with no commercials, and more importantly, no talking heads, was the least stressful political television watching experience ever. Go Teddy K!!

The only thing I’ve seen hold a candle to WYES was getting to watch WGBH in Boston.
I spent my saturday mornings growing up watching cooking shows on WYES instead of (or after) cartoons.
