I have a few questions regarding the story linked below:
Second teenage girl identifies Bonds in court; Juror tells court Bonds is “fidgeting” during testimony
When they say…
“Now we’re reading the testimony?” prosecutor deBlanc objected. Judge Jerome Winsberg agrees.
…do they change tense in the middle of the paragraph?
When they say…
“Judge, these objections are an attempt to harass us?” said Boggs, putting the emphasis on the first syllable of the word.
…do they mean the word “harass” or any of the other words in that statement?
When they say…
With the jury out of the courtroom, the judge brings in one juror who wanted to tell the court of something he saw Bonds do during the two teenage girls’ testimony.
“To me that’s a form of intimidation,” the juror said. “I’ve been around long enough to know. In the direction that he did it in, like so. How would you categorize that?”
The juror, a man with a beard and glassed on his hand, told the court that while each girl was testifying, he saw Bonds glide a finger over his face and rest his hand in his head.
…shouldn’t the third paragraph be where the second one is and the second one be where the third one is? The gesture is referenced before it is introduced. Also, what does “glassed on his hand” mean?
I think Gwen Filosa may not be ready for prime time.
