I noticed that Reinventing The Crescent plans are on the front page of Nola.com today and, after taking a look at them and recalling my leisurely bike ride down the Moonwalk yesterday, I thought to myself, “Wow, looks like the future will be bright for shoeshine scammers.”
Yes, they are still out in full force along the river. Ya know, when even tourist pamphlets are being printed year-after-year about this scam and I can’t even walk down the moonwalk on any given day without seeing at least one shoeshine scam going down (and breaking them up when I have the chance) often by the same guys, it might be something that could be rather easily identified and dealt with by authorities? How hard could it be to bust these guys especially when they are generally in the same place at the same time doing the same thing?
But yea, with vast swaths of the river opening up, it looks like business will be booming for shoeshine scammers very soon.
