Rebecca MacFitte, Sam Jasper, godspeed and let us wish you well as you return to the atoms of the aether. We thank you for the many inspirations and encouragements you left us here with. We will miss you. We will miss your brilliance, and your wit, and your unrelenting pursuit of fairness, and the voice through which you spoke your unyielding truths. While the world you left remains damaged, blemished and imperfect, the kind influence you had on it will always remain. You have left us, those who loved you and whom you loved back, enriched and inspired. We will miss the stories and tales you told of the many sensational lives you led, lives filled with art and activism, with adventures and endeavors, surrounded by our Universe’s most colorful and inspired sprits. And you Rebecca, you Sam, you were one of these spirits. Your sweet soul will be remembered and revered all across your beloved New Orleans. We will sing and speak your name in the French Quarter for many years to come and we will sing it with not sadness at your departure but with revelry of your time here with us.
